The Otaru Ushio Festival, one of the premier events representing summer in Otaru, is taking place again this year.
Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026, the Otaru Ushio Festival is a massive three-day event that colors the entire city. Running from July 24 (Fri) to July 26 (Sun), 2026, the city will come alive with vibrant festivities, including the “Ushio Nerikomi” dance parade, portable shrine (mikoshi) processions, and Ushio taiko drumming. The main festival venue is located just a 10-minute walk from our hotel!
On the final day, July 26 (Sun), the festival concludes with a grand fireworks display.
To celebrate, UNWIND HOTEL & BAR OTARU is hosting its annual one-night-only special event, “UNWIND NIGHT TERRACE.” Guests can relax on our rooftop terrace, “UNWIND TERRACE,” and enjoy an unobstructed view of the grand fireworks display. Highly popular among both hotel guests and local residents every year, we are thrilled to bring back “UNWIND NIGHT TERRACE” once again!

Catch the cool summer night breeze on our open-air rooftop terrace while enjoying delicious snacks and drinks as fireworks light up the night sky. Our Apero Set features a curated plate showcasing the best Hokkaido flavors, including Yubari melon, local Hokkaido cheeses, prosciutto, and house-made sandwiches. Pair your food plate with your choice of one complimentary drink—including sparkling wine, original cocktails, or soft drinks—and spend a relaxed summer evening under the stars.
