A Fresh Morning at HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU: Local Flavors from Yanaka, Nezu & Sendagi

A brand-new breakfast menu has arrived at HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU, drawing on the rich local flavors of the Yanesen area — and it’s open to everyone, not just hotel guests.

■A New Breakfast Menu Rooted in Yanesen’s Local Ingredients

Tucked into the residential streets of Yanesen — the beloved Tokyo neighborhood spanning Yanaka, Nezu, and Sendagi — HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU is a hostel-style hotel built around the concept of “Meet Local. Feel Global.” It’s a place where travelers from around the world and locals from the community come together, connecting over the culture, people, and everyday life of the neighborhood, all within a space that carries a distinctly international atmosphere.

Starting June 8, 2026, GRAPHY NEZU CAFE & LOUNGE — the café attached to the hotel — has refreshed its breakfast menu around the theme of “Comfort & Discovery.” The idea is simple but meaningful: by weaving local ingredients and neighborhood character into familiar, satisfying breakfast dishes, guests can enjoy both the warmth of a comforting morning meal and the thrill of discovering something new. It’s a breakfast experience that feels uniquely at home here.

With a genuine commitment to local food experiences, the menu features bread from beloved neighborhood bakeries and ingredients sourced from well-known spots with ties to the Nezu area — each one a small discovery in itself. The breakfast is available not only to hotel guests, but to anyone stopping by the café.

■Three Ways to Enjoy the New Menu

① A Local Experience That Connects You to the Neighborhood
Every plate tells a story. The menu features ingredients from local favorites like Bakery Miura and Nezu no Pan, bacon from a nearby butcher, and canned mackerel from a coffee shop with ties to the hotel — all sourced from the faces and places of Yanesen. When staff share a little background — “This ingredient is from the shop just around the corner” — it naturally sparks conversation and often inspires guests to visit that very spot on their walk around the neighborhood later that day.

② Beautiful Presentation That Excites the Eye
Careful attention has gone into the visual side of every dish. Thoughtful layering creates dimension on the plate, while seasonal vegetables and local ingredients bring vibrant color to the table. This isn’t just breakfast — it’s a mood-setter for the day ahead. The goal is a morning plate that makes you feel instantly energized just by looking at it, and ready to explore all that Yanesen has to offer.

③ A Lineup That Fits Your Own Style
Whether you’re looking for a vegan-friendly option (the hummus and vegetable open sandwich is a favorite among Western guests), the perennially popular avocado toast, or a hearty meat plate to fuel an active day of exploring — there’s something here for every appetite and lifestyle.

■New Menu Lineup (5 Items)

1. Open Sandwich — Guacamole & Hummus: ¥1,350 (tax included)

Crispy toasted bread meets smooth, creamy guacamole in a combination that’s as satisfying in texture as it is in flavor. Brightened with lemon and garlic, the guacamole is topped with cottage cheese, sprouts, and a crack of black pepper. The result is a beautifully fresh, vivid green open sandwich that’s as pretty as it is delicious.

2. Open Sandwich — Hummus with Seasonal Grilled Vegetables: ¥1,350 (tax included)

A colorful, vegetable-forward plate that puts the “feel good” in breakfast. This vegan-friendly option is designed to be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of dietary preferences or restrictions. A generous spread of house-made chickpea hummus is piled high with grilled seasonal vegetables, then finished with a sprinkle of cumin and oregano for an exotic, aromatic touch.

3. Hot Sandwich — Saba Melt: ¥1,350 (tax included)

Made with canned mackerel from a coffee shop with a special connection to the hotel, this one is a little unexpected — in the best way. The rich umami of the mackerel is balanced with a hint of spice, softening any fishiness and making it approachable for all ages. The bread is toasted to a golden crisp, while juicy sliced tomato and melted cheese come together in every bite for something truly satisfying.

4. Roast Pork & Spinach and Bacon Quiche: ¥1,500 (tax included)

For guests who like to start the day with a proper, filling meal, this is the plate. Built to energize and inspire, it features tender, juicy pork shoulder that’s quickly seared before serving to add a golden crust and a touch of smokiness. Paired with a rich spinach and bacon quiche, it’s the kind of breakfast that sends you out the door ready for whatever the day holds.

5. French Toast (Three Variations): ¥1,350 (tax included)

  • Bacon & Onion × Orange Milk Tea Bread — Savory bacon from a local butcher and sweet caramelized onion, brought together with maple syrup and black pepper for an addictive sweet-and-savory combination.
  • Mixed Berry × Croissant — Bright, tangy mixed berries with the classic richness of maple. Simple, elegant, and always satisfying.
  • Matcha Tiramisu × Yomogi Daifuku Bread — Creamy mascarpone, matcha powder, and earthy yomogi bread with adzuki beans. A nod to Japan’s enduring matcha moment.

■Menu Supervision: Food Designer Tomoko Ozawa (Mokomeshi)

The new breakfast menu was developed in collaboration with Tomoko Ozawa, a food designer known by the name Mokomeshi, who is based right here in the local community. After a career as an interior designer, she went independent in 2010, and in 2021 opened SLOW GELATO in bulk — a gelato and baked goods shop tucked into a backstreet in Nezu — where she also works as owner. With her deep roots in and love for the Nezu neighborhood, Ozawa brings a perspective that no outsider could replicate. Her fingerprints are all over this menu, and we hope you taste the difference.
