As part of our anniversary festivities, we’re excited to host a special joint event spanning our LIVELY HOTELS three flagship properties in Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo, themed around the vibrant and iconic “Heisei Retro Deco.” This event promises to be a blast, and we can’t wait to share all the details with you!
Before diving in, what is “Heisei Retro Deco”?
For those who may not be familiar, “Heisei” refers to the era in Japan from 1989 to 2019. In current times, it represents the colorful and expressive pop culture, fashion, music, and youth trends that blossomed in Japan during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Think flip phones, purikura photo booths, J-pop, and the distinctive gyaru fashion.
One of the hallmark trends from this period is Deco-mori, where individuals adorned their mobile phones, pictures, and personal items with rhinestones, stickers, and an array of colorful charms. This bold and personalized style has become an iconic symbol of Heisei culture.

Created by our talented chef teams from Fukuoka, Osaka, and Tokyo, these Deco-mori plates blend the theme of “Heisei meets Local Flavors,” showcasing each region’s specialties and landmarks in a delicious way.
Event-Exclusive Drink – “Fruit Mojito Punch” ¥700
This hands-on Deco-mori drink experience allows you to mix and match toppings reminiscent of the Heisei era, such as nata de coco and tapioca. Customize your drink with your favorite toppings for a fun and refreshing treat!

DJ Lineup（AtoZ)
Our special one-day-only DJ lineup, led by the talented YonYon, will bring the Heisei Retro Deco Night to life with a blend of nostalgic and innovative sounds. It’s sure to be a night filled with vibrant music and unforgettable energy.
ART
The first floor will feature captivating works of art created from discarded materials, including flip phones, CDs, and magazines—a nod to the Heisei period. These installations reinterpret iconic objects from the era and express the culture, values, and memories associated with the time through the Deco-mori aesthetic.
Not only will these pieces evoke a sense of nostalgia, but they will also allow visitors to explore and experience the charm of items that defined the Heisei era. Take this opportunity to reflect on your own memories and rediscover the essence of Heisei culture.

Join us for hands-on activities that celebrate the Deco-mori decoration culture!
For just ¥ 300, you can engage in our “Personal Deco-mori” session, where you can decorate yourself, or customize “Cheki” instant camera cases and luggage tags to your liking. Let your creativity shine as you craft your own one-of-a-kind items!
