Hi everyone,
Japanese summer is here, bringing hot and humid days along with everything we love about the season—summer festivals, Bon Odori dances, and delicious food like yakitori and yakisoba.
Another thing you can’t miss during summer in Japan is the Beer Garden. As part of our community events at Hotel Graphy Shibuya, we organized a night out at a local beer garden so our guests could experience this unique part of Japanese summer together.

That night happened to be one of the hottest of the summer, but once we arrived, the heat didn’t seem to matter anymore. Surrounded by greenery, glowing lanterns, and the lively atmosphere of a fully packed beer garden, everyone quickly got into the summer spirit.
After everyone found their seats, we introduced one of Japan’s most important traditions—“Kanpai!”, the Japanese way to say “Cheers!” With glasses raised together, our two-hour all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink course officially began.

The menu featured plenty of Japanese favorites, from grilled meats and fresh vegetables to yakisoba cooked right on the grill. Guests also enjoyed a wide selection of drinks, including draft beer, whiskey, wine, cocktails, and soft drinks.

Then came an unexpected surprise !!!
Just as the evening was in full swing, fireworks suddenly lit up the sky. Nobody was expecting them, making the moment even more special. Everyone stopped to look up, phones came out, smiles appeared everywhere, and the excitement spread across every table.

Soon after, local guests sitting nearby started chatting with our international guests, taking photos together and sharing the moment. It was completely spontaneous, but that’s exactly what made it so memorable.

It was definitely a hot night—but thanks to our amazing guests, our wonderful staff, and a little surprise from the summer sky, it became an unforgettable one.
For our guests, it was a chance to experience a side of Japan that many travelers might not discover on their own. For our staff, it was another opportunity to spend time with guests outside the hotel and connect in a more natural way.
At Hotel Graphy Shibuya, we love creating moments where people can experience local culture together—not as tourists, but as part of the community.(For the latest event updates, please visit the official Instagram account of HOTEL GRAPHY Shibuya.)
