Centered around the theme of connection, this summer festival is uniquely ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA’s own — a celebration of the bonds we share, brought to life through music, art, and food that showcase the diverse culture of Okinawa.

The lineup includes original hotel dishes and food stalls from popular local eateries, along with sanshin performances and a bingata traditional dyeing workshop that let you experience authentic Okinawan culture up close. There’s something for everyone, from kids to adults.

Enjoy a live performance by Airi Ishimine, an award-winning performer of classical and traditional Ryukyu folk music. Her sanshin melodies will bring an authentically Okinawan touch to the festival atmosphere.

Airi Ishimine

She began playing the sanshin after enrolling in the Local Culture Course at Haebaru High School.

She has since won numerous awards and built an impressive track record in classical and traditional Ryukyu folk music.

She has also appeared on television numerous times, including singing for local Okinawan commercials and appearing on shows like Karaoke Battle, Ongaku Champ, and Monitoring.

She is currently a resident artist at Shimauta Live Izakaya Yuika on Naha’s Kokusai Street, performing live shows and events both within and outside Okinawa, as well as internationally.


[Art]

■ Custom Art and Goods by Okinawa-Born Artist Danson

Danson is the artist behind this event’s key visual. On the day of the event, original t-shirts featuring the key visual design will be available for purchase, along with custom artwork created based on conversations with each customer, capturing their individual image in a piece of art. Goods from Danson’s art gallery, HONNNO PARK, will also be on sale.

Danson

Born in 1986 on Iriomote Island, Okinawa, Danson is an illustrator and picture book author.

Working under the motto of “rakugaki” (playful, free-spirited doodling), he creates art with a unique, unconventional sense of style.

After graduating from university, he worked at an advertising agency while taking on a wide range of creative projects, including visual design for other artists and art direction for Okinawa tourism campaigns. In 2014, he published his first original picture book, “LIFE OF MR.DONK,” followed by “Agorita Ojisan no Shiawase no Tane” in 2017.

In recent years, he has focused on commissioned wall art projects for businesses, including Blue Seal Ice Cream’s Chatan store, hug3do, and MEGA Don Quijote. In January 2024, he opened his gallery, HONNO PARK, in Oroku, Naha,

where he continues to hold exhibitions in collaboration with artists from both within and outside Okinawa.

■ Bingata Traditional Craft Workshop

Bingata artist Ayaka Isagawa will lead a workshop where guests of all ages can easily try their hand at this traditional Okinawan dyeing craft. Participants can create their own original drawstring bag, including a taco-print design made exclusively for this event.

Time: 4:00 PM–9:00 PM ※No reservation required

Participation fee: ¥2,500 (tax included)

Duration: approximately 30 minutes

Ayaka Isagawa

Born in Okinawa in 1999.

After graduating from the Dyeing and Textile Design Department at Shuri High School, she completed advanced craft training at the Okinawa Prefectural Crafts Promotion Center.

Since 2019, she has worked as a bingata artist both within Okinawa and beyond, including overseas. Her activities include collaborations with companies and workshops for municipalities and schools, and she shares the appeal of Okinawan traditional culture and bingata through social media. Under the motto “Bingata is fun!”, she creates opportunities for people of all ages, from small children to adults, to enjoy the craft.
