Guided by the concept “Emode (Emotional × Mode),” THE LIVELY FUKUOKA HAKATA creates original sweets for each season and special occasion, offering a fresh hotel experience through food. Designed to be as photogenic as they are delicious, our desserts can be enjoyed in the café or taken back to your room—and have been featured repeatedly by local media and on social platforms. ■ The indulgent Japanese–Western sweet “DORATY”
The centerpiece of this plan is “DORATY,” an indulgent dessert that brings together Japanese sweets, chocolate, and fruit in one irresistible bite. The name blends “DORA” from the classic Japanese dorayaki with “GUILTY,” capturing that playful sense of indulgence that comes with treating yourself. It’s a new kind of sweet that reimagines tradition in a delightfully decadent way.
Layers of moist black dorayaki skin, made with bamboo charcoal, are paired with Fukuoka-grown Amaou strawberries, rich raw chocolate, matcha mochi, sweet red bean whipped cream, berry sauce, and a silky Yame matcha brûlée. A gently sweet white chocolate sauce is served on the side, allowing you to adjust the richness to your taste.
Sweet and bitter, Japanese and Western—each layer weaves together to create a deep, satisfying flavor experience meant to be savored slowly.

For café drinks, we present “CHOCOCHA,” a bittersweet and sweet café drink that layers milk chocolate jelly, espresso coffee, and Yame matcha cream, and is also fun to look at. We tuned the balance of bitterness and sweetness so you can enjoy it together with “DORATY.” The rich matcha cream made with Yame matcha goes perfectly with “DORATY” as a dip. Of course, even by itself, you can enjoy it like a “drinkable jelly.”
