Asakusa Hanayashiki holds a countdown event every year on New Year’s Eve. The park is lit up with illuminations, making it a perfect spot for your final outing of the year.

・Tokyo Skytree® New Year’s Event
Various New Year’s events will be held at Tokyo Skytree®. There is a lot of New Year’s exclusive content, such as a present for the first visitors on the first three days of the year, New Year-only lighting, and interior decorations. Furthermore, you can enjoy the view of Tokyo Skytree® during your stay, as it is visible from our hotel’s rooftop.

In Japan, it has long been a tradition to watch the first sunrise of the year on New Year’s Day. Since ancient times, people have believed that the deity of the New Year appears with the first sunrise, making it an important custom to pray for happiness and a good harvest in the year ahead.
In 2026, the first sunrise in Tokyo is expected to appear around 6:50 a.m. Our rooftop is a space exclusively for staying guests, allowing you to enjoy the moment calmly without worrying about crowds. Why not welcome the New Year by watching the first sunrise from our hotel and start the year on a refreshing and positive note?

At our hotel, we offer a complimentary beer service exclusively for staying guests every day from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at our first-floor café. This free beer hour is a popular time for guests to connect and socialize.
For New Year’s Eve on December 31 only, we are extending this special time to two hours, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition, we will be serving traditional Toshikoshi soba, along with a Japanese sake tasting that we introduced in July.
As our sake service is usually available on weekends only, we invite you to take this opportunity to try it. While looking back on the year, enjoy a classic Japanese New Year’s Eve tradition—toshikoshi soba—together with fellow guests and our staff.
