Stop 1 [Miso] Rich Comfort in Every SipDaikoku

If you’re craving bold, hearty miso ramen, start here.

Just steps from the hotel toward Shibuya, “Daikoku” has been a beloved local institution for years, keeping the neighborhood well-fed since its founding.

What makes it special : One sip and you’ll taste the difference—a super-rich, deeply flavorful soup made with white miso. The chewy, thick curly noodles stand up to the soup beautifully, carrying all that umami with every bite. It warms you from the inside out, making it perfect for cold nights or when you need a solid energy boost after a day of exploring.

Recommendations :

“Miso Ramen” : The classic choice. Crunchy vegetables pair perfectly with the rich soup.

“Chashu” : So tender it falls apart with your chopsticks, thick and generous. Dipping it in the miso soup is heavenly.

“Gyoza” : As the shop name “Ramen Gyoza Daikoku” suggests, their handmade gyoza is a hidden star. Definitely order these alongside your ramen.

Stop 2 [Shio] Customize Your BowlOreryu Shio Ramen

“Oreryu Shio Ramen” is a popular chain that originated in Shibuya.

The Daikanyama location sits near Sarugaku Bridge, away from the hustle of central Shibuya, offering a calm atmosphere to enjoy your meal. The clean, spacious interior has counter and table seating, making it welcoming for solo diners and groups alike.

What makes it special : A variety of shio (salt) ramen options like clear “Jukusei Shio” and “Do Shio.” Free toppings at your table include rock seaweed, tororo kelp, and pickled plum—perfect for customizing your bowl as you eat.

What we tried :”Oreryu Otoko-mori Ramen” (Men’s Feast Ramen) : Perfect for when you’re thinking “I want to go big today!” This is volume on another level. Two massive pieces of fried chicken dominate the bowl, along with juicy chashu and a seasoned egg—a visual feast that truly lives up to the “men’s feast” name.

The appeal : The freshly fried chicken is crispy when eaten plain, but soak it in the soup and it becomes juicy and rich. The concentrated yet clean-tasting soup combines with the meat’s umami for serious satisfaction.

Recommendations : Go for “Oryū Shio” when you want something light, or “Jukusei” for a mellower flavor.

Stop 3 [Shoyu] Osaka’s Legendary Shellfish Broth Jinrui Mina Menrui

You’ve probably heard the name before.

This Osaka phenomenon with legendary lines can now be enjoyed in the Ebisu-Shibuya area. Three Egyptian-style statues stand outside, and inside, Mr. Children concert footage plays on screens—it’s quirky, comfortable, and uniquely welcoming.

What makes it special Three distinct styles of shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. You can choose the thickness of your roasted pork, and if you go for “world’s thickest cut,” you’ll meet a slice of chashu that doesn’t disappoint. This bowl challenges everything you thought you knew about ramen.

Recommendation “Ramen macro” is their most popular shellfish-based ramen. The umami from clams and shijimi combined with light soy sauce creates a soup you’ll want to drink to the last drop.

What makes it special : Mountains of vegetables, punchy shoyu soup, and ultra-thick noodles. The authentic bowl created by an owner who trained at a direct lineage shop is seriously addictive.
