Ramen Stand MEN BOX Sakaisuji Honmachi
A masterfully crafted soup made from chicken and pork bone broth – Toriton
Our first stop is MEN BOX Sakaisuji Honmachi, located just a three-minute walk from THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI. Their signature Toriton broth—a rich blend of chicken and pork—comes in several varieties like soy sauce, seafood, and even curry.
After some serious menu-debating, we went for the Rich Toriton Soy Sauce Tsukemen, topped with a perfectly seasoned egg. The thick, savory dipping broth clings beautifully to the springy homemade noodles, making every bite deeply satisfying.
With ramen, tsukemen, and mazesoba all on offer, there’s always something new to try here. Plus, it’s open until 22:00—ideal for a comforting late-night meal after a busy day exploring Osaka or winding down at THE LIVELY.

RAMEN CHORO～Ramen with Clams and Jidori Chicken Broth～
Our second stop is Choro San, ranked 13th in the whole of Japan, and only a 7 minute walk from THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI.
This shop is not only popular with Japanese locals, but also with people from overseas, many travelling from afar just at a chance for a taste.
Here you can enjoy a delicious ramen with broth combining chicken and clams.
This time, we opted for the No.1 popular item: The Special Choro Ramen – Salt Flavour.
After choosing the flavour, you can also choose the type of chashu (pork).

There is also the option to add butter on the side, letting you enjoy a change in flavour.
The broth is light, making it a satisfying yet easy dish to finish.
It can get a little crowded during lunch time, so we recommend visiting a little bit earlier or later.

Honmachi Seimensho Chinese Soba Workshop
For our final stop, we visited “Honmachi Seimensho Chinese Soba Workshop”, which features a broth from Yamacho Shoten in Osaka’s Kuromon Market!
The shop is located in Semba Center Building 2, just a 3 minute walk from THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI.
Here you can enjoy in-house homemade noodles, paired alongside an additive-free broth made from bonito stock supplied by Yamacho Shoten.
This time we ordered their signature Chinese Soba!
It was topped with sliced pork, bamboo shoots, seasoned egg, seaweed, white onion, and mitsuba (a parsley-like herb). You can also get a larger order of noodles at no extra cost.
The wholewheat homemade noodles have a firm yet smooth texture, which when paired with the slightly sweet soy sauce and rich seafood broth, creates a lovely refined taste.
If you have enough room, we also recommend trying one of their delicious rice bowls alongside your ramen ♪
