Sweet Potetoro: A Five-Layer Sweet Potato Dessert Like No Other
Our hotel’s chef combines refined technique with a creative spirit that breaks away from convention, crafting sweets that surprise not just in flavor and beauty—but in concept itself. Each dessert is designed to make you think, “I need to try that before anyone else.”
This fall, we’re proud to debut our newest creation: Sweet Potetoro.
Forget everything you thought you knew about sweet potato desserts. Traditionally smooth and moist, the sweet potato here is transformed into a bold, five-layer masterpiece featuring the deeply sweet Beni Haruka variety. Light yet rich, fluffy yet indulgent, each tier reveals a different side of sweet potato—culminating in a dessert experience that feels truly new.
The Five Tempting Layers of Sweet Potetoro:
1. Beni Haruka candied with lemon + cinnamon crumble
A zesty and spiced foundation that sharpens the flavors to come.
2. Roasted Beni Haruka mousse with white chocolate
Silky and ultra-light, balancing natural sweetness with depth.
3. Marshmallow + rum mousse
A fluffy texture with a grown-up, aromatic edge.
4. Roasted sweet potato crème fouettée
Unsweetened whipped cream that ties it all together with balance.
5. Warm brown butter & cinnamon foam
A fragrant, melty finish with lingering richness.
Sweet Potetoro isn’t just a dessert—it’s an autumn journey of texture, flavor, and surprise, created to be savored slowly and remembered long after.


When served, we add smoke using roasted sweet potato skins, and you can watch cream melt right before your eyes. You can enjoy an extraordinary moment not only with taste, but also through aroma and visuals. You can also pour on our special purple sweet potato sauce if you like and enjoy a change in flavor.

Chef Kohei Nishiura

After training at restaurants in Kobe, Osaka, and France, he served as head chef at several French restaurants in Osaka City, including the modern French “La Chic” in Yodoyabashi. He became head chef of THE LIVELY KITCHEN OSAKA HONMACHI in December 2019. For course appetizers, he offers them in a French delicatessen style. His cooking is based on French cuisine, balancing classic and modern, and uses seasonal ingredients grown in Japan’s four seasons. He aims for dishes that express the life of the ingredients and make your heart leap. Using the sense and knowledge he has built so far, he conveys the charm of “casual French” unique to THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI, where French cuisine feels more familiar.
