The Comfort of a Lobby Bar: No Doors, No Nerves
Bar Ignis Otaru is a “lobby bar” that flows naturally into the hotel’s main entrance area. Unlike traditional bars where you have to pull open a heavy, mysterious door, our bar is an open extension of the lobby.
If the idea of entering a bar makes you nervous, just take a look from the lobby first. You’ll see the soft lighting and the gentle hum of conversation between bartenders and guests. You’ll quickly realize, “Wait, this looks much easier to enter than I thought.”

For our staying guests, we offer a Free Wine Service every day from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. We provide three types of red and three types of white wine (six total) for you to enjoy freely. You are more than welcome to try them all or go back for seconds!
Our lineup includes local Hokkaido wines and the popular “Otaru Wine” from Hokkaido Wine Co. Finding a favorite here is a great way to decide on souvenirs later. Since the atmosphere is casual and the wine is free, it’s the perfect “low-stakes” way to get a feel for the bar without the pressure of ordering from a menu right away. We also have soft drinks available, so non-drinkers can relax comfortably too.
Art & Cocktails: A Unique Bar Experience
Bar Ignis Otaru also serves as a gallery space. We host “UNWIND GALLERY,” featuring seasonal exhibitions by artists with ties to Hokkaido. You can enjoy the fusion of our classical Art Deco architecture and contemporary art while sipping your favorite drink.
To match each exhibition, we often offer “Art Pairing Cocktails” designed to reflect the taste and aroma of the artwork on display. Whether you’re staring at a beautiful painting or discovering a new favorite artist, it’s about more than just having a drink—it’s a multi-sensory experience unique to UNWIND HOTEL & BAR OTARU.

Bar Ignis Otaru is open for standard service every night from 7:30 PM to 11:30 PM (L.O. 11:00 PM). We warmly welcome not only hotel guests but also local residents and visitors exploring Otaru.

Our bar is perfect for those moods. While we have a full cocktail menu, many of our guests come specifically for our popular “Shime Parfait” (Night Parfait). Enjoying a decadent dessert in the calm, sophisticated atmosphere of a bar is a quintessential Hokkaido way to end your night.
