The lodge‑like boutique hotel “UNWIND HOTEL & BAR SAPPORO,” now celebrating its 8th anniversary, recreates the atmosphere of a mountain lodge in the heart of Sapporo city. By eliminating the usual access and dining inconveniences of an actual lodge, the hotel offers guests the pure charm of a lodge through quality service and stress‑free amenities.
Typically, guests can fully unwind in this lodge‑inspired setting, but on one special day only—Sunday, August 24, 2025—we will host “UNWIND SKATEBOARDING DAY,” an event that merges lifestyle hotel vibes with Sapporo’s emerging subculture to create an energetic and vibrant experience.
In Sapporo, interest in skateboarding has grown rapidly—three new skateparks will open this year alone—and skateboarding became an official sport at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. By blending this exciting skateboard culture with our hotel’s unique world, we offer diverse experiences centered around skateboarding, suitable for everyone from kids to devoted skaters. These will take place across two venues: the skatepark on the first floor and our rooftop terrace on the top floor.
The skatepark venue transforms our usual parking area into a one‑day skateboarding park. We will feature powerful demo sessions by pro skaters, a community “Best Trick” contest, pro‑led lessons for kids, and open sessions where anyone can join—even beginners.
The rooftop terrace venue offers a cozy gathering space around a large fire pit, blending art, food, music, and skateboarding culture in a relaxed setting. Guests can enjoy the premiere of pro skater Satoru Taguchi’s skate video “NOISE,” live painting by renowned artist Hirotton, specialty food and drinks inspired by skate culture, and local DJ‑curated R&B and House music.
Both hotel guests and non‑guests—skateboarding fans or those simply curious—are welcome to join us for a day of discovery and connection through skateboarding.

Live Painting by Hirotton (Event Venue)
From 15:00, internationally active artist Hirotton will perform dynamic live painting within the hotel. Inspired by skateboarding, nature, punk, and political themes, his work spans art, design, and cultural influence globally.
