A Winter-Only Menu Celebrating Okinawa’s Beloved Sanpin-cha
Sanpin-cha is a part of everyday life in Okinawa, and many locals think of it as their soul drink. This jasmine-scented tea is loved for its rich aroma, refreshing finish, and a perfect balance of sweetness and gentle bitterness. Last spring, ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA introduced “Sanpin Choux Ice Cream,” a sweet treat that showed off a new side of sanpin-cha, and it was a big hit. This winter, that dessert is back in a new form: a chocolate-based cream puff called the “Sanpin Choux Chocolat.” Each month brings a different flavor, from fruity versions with strawberries and tankan oranges to one made for true chocolate lovers. We’re also serving two fun sanpin-cha drinks.

◼️“Sanpin Choux Chocolat” – 780 yen each
Our crunchy cookie puffs are made with sanpin-cha and chocolate, then filled with sanpin-cha custard and chocolate cream. They come in three monthly flavors.
The surprising pairing of sanpin-cha and chocolate creates a wonderfully aromatic taste. Each month features a different mousse, seasonal fruit, and toppings. Pour the syrup served on the side over the top to enjoy an even more varied flavor.
December: Strawberry Sanpin Choux Chocolat
Available: December 1 (Tue) – December 31 (Thu), 2026
The sweet-tart taste of strawberries and the tang of berry mousse layer over the flavors of sanpin-cha and chocolate, so every bite tastes a little different. Drizzle on the sanpin syrup served on the side to bring out even more of the tea’s aroma and sweetness.

January: Tankan Sanpin Choux Chocolat
Available: January 1 (Fri) – January 31 (Sun), 2027
Seasonal tankan oranges from Okinawa, along with a tankan mousse, add a refreshing tang and sweetness that blend beautifully with the sanpin-cha and chocolate. Bits of tankan zest on the cookie puff add a fragrant, slightly bitter accent. Leaf-shaped matcha chocolates add a pop of color and capture the spirit of Okinawa, where it stays green even in winter.

February: Extra-Chocolatey Sanpin Choux Chocolat

Generous amounts of chocolate go into both the mousse and the cream, making this one perfect for Valentine’s season. Add the chocolate syrup served on the side for an even richer taste. The aroma of sanpin-cha opens up within the deep, rich chocolate and gives the flavor extra depth.

“Sanpin Cookie Smoothie” – 750 yen (tax included)
This aromatic smoothie blends strongly brewed sanpin-cha with vanilla ice cream and milk. It’s topped with plenty of rich cookie cream, made by mixing crushed sanpin cookies and chocolate cookies into whipped cream. Enjoy the creamy texture and sanpin-cha flavor, along with the chocolate, sanpin cookies, and strawberries decorating the glass.
“Ryukyu Piña Colada” – 900 yen (tax included)
This Okinawan twist on the piña colada combines Oppa Sanroku awamori yogurt liqueur (an awamori-based liqueur) with Malibu, pineapple juice, and sanpin syrup. The striking contrast of red and white makes it a real eye-catcher. Stir in the berry sauce little by little to enjoy the flavor as it changes.
