Cafco.dalla Pop-Up & Workshop Coming to Tokyo: Two Days to Experience the Beauty of Japanese Silk

A two-day celebration of pure Japanese silk is coming to the heart of Tokyo’s Azabujuban district. On November 7 and 8, THE LIVELY TOKYO AZABUJUBAN will host “Cafco.dalla Pop-Up & Workshop”, a special event presented by Cafco.dalla, an apparel brand from Toyota City known for its exquisite creations made with locally produced Toyota silk. The event offers a rare opportunity to explore Japan’s sericulture culture and experience the refined craftsmanship of modern artisans.

The pop-up will feature Cafco.dalla’s signature pieces such as scrunchies, clutch bags, and earrings alongside a curated selection of items that embody the brand’s devotion to craftsmanship and the natural beauty of silk.

With its smooth texture and delicate luster, the fine Japanese silk will fill the space with quiet elegance — inviting guests to feel the harmony of traditional techniques and contemporary design.

About the Brand: Cafco.dalla

Cafco.dalla is a fashion brand that incorporates domestically produced silk into its creations under the concept of “Stories Born from Life.”

Based in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, the brand collaborates closely with local sericulturists, crafting each piece with care from the sourcing of raw materials to the final form. After the silk-making process, skilled artisans from across Japan transform the threads into garments, accessories, and decorative pieces.

The brand’s name merges the phrase “Caf-co” (meaning “to nurture silkworms”) with the Aichi dialect expression “…dalla”. The city of Toyota once flourished as a center of sericulture during the Meiji era, when mulberry fields—the silkworms’ primary food—spread across what is now the area around Toyota-shi Station. Cafco.dalla carries on Toyota City’s sericulture heritage, weaving together the stories of local culture, craftsmanship, and the journey from raw silk to creation.

Silk Meets Linen: A New Form of Beauty in Azabu

The name “Azabu (麻布)” itself derives from the characters for hemp (麻) and cloth (布).
At this event, these two materials—linen and silk—come together in a setting that celebrates the intersection of tradition and innovation, and the essence of Japanese aesthetics.
