[Event Report] Discover Real Japanese Izakaya Culture in Shibuya
On December 15th, we hosted our monthly community event, “IZAKAYA NIGHT”, at The Millennials Shibuya!
This time, we went to Chibachan Shibuya, a popular izakaya known for its strong local vibe. Around 15 international guests joined us, making it a lively evening filled with smiles, laughter, and great conversations.
In this article, we’d like to share highlights from IZAKAYA NIGHT along with photos from the event.
Participants signed up in advance and gathered at the hotel lounge around 7 PM. Even though many guests were meeting for the first time, everyone headed to the izakaya together, and conversations started flowing before we even arrived. It didn’t feel like a group of strangers at all—everyone quickly warmed up to each other.
The food was a course menu with impressively generous portions.
Since the plan included all-you-can-drink, it was fun to see our international guests excitedly choosing from a variety of uniquely Japanese drinks, wondering, “Which one should I try?”
The restaurant was also filled with local Japanese student groups, giving our guests the chance to experience a real Japanese izakaya atmosphere, something that’s hard to find through sightseeing alone.
Despite differences in nationality and background, guests naturally connected with one another, and some even went out for a second round together after the event.
As you can see from the photos, IZAKAYA NIGHT was once again a huge success.
Our international guests truly enjoyed experiencing Japanese izakaya culture and the joy of connecting with people.
Due to its popularity, IZAKAYA NIGHT will continue to be held regularly.
At The Millennials Shibuya, where many guests are solo travelers, it’s easy for individuals to come together and form new connections.
