Our hotel’s rooftop “UNWIND TERRACE,” which opens every summer for a limited time, is now open again this year!

open-air terrace where you can take in more of the charm of Otaru, a city by the sea?
From UNWIND TERRACE, you can fully enjoy heartwarming views—from the charming historical
buildings of Otaru to the sea stretching beyond the port town.
This year, the terrace hours have been greatly extended to 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM!
From the clear morning air to the evening breeze under the stars,
you can now enjoy your time here more freely and in your own way.

From 7:00 AM: A Refreshing Start to the Morning
The rooftop is wrapped in the quiet of the morning and the soft morning sunlight.
Spending a slow, peaceful moment feeling the sea breeze before breakfast is an elegant pleasure unique to traveling.
You can read a book, gaze at the view with a cup of coffee in hand, or simply enjoy doing nothing at all.
As you take in the refreshing breeze flowing across the terrace, your mind and body will gradually awaken.
Midday: Perfect for Sunbathing or Soaking Up the Sun
During midday, relax on the terrace while feeling the warm sunlight!
From 1:00 PM, we begin offering welcome drinks along with a summer-themed refreshing playlist.
Two types of welcome drinks:
- Lemonade with a crisp, refreshing tartness
- Detox water with a subtle aroma of rosemary and orange
Enjoy your own unique way of spending time through all five senses in an open space where cool drinks
meet pleasant music.
Evening: A Perfect Break Between Sightseeing
While enjoying sightseeing in Otaru, we recommend returning to the hotel for a short break on the terrace!
Thanks to the location of UNWIND HOTEL & BAR OTARU, just a short walk from the tourist spot
“Sakaimachi Street Shopping District,” you can indulge in a little “quick rest” that only staying here can offer.
Summer in Otaru is pleasantly dry, so the evening breeze on the terrace feels wonderful, allowing you to
relax comfortably.
From 5:00 PM: A Special Moment with a Glass in Hand
Every day from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, enjoy the free wine service at the lobby bar Bar Ignis Otaru.
You can enjoy three types each of red and white wine at no charge—
and you’re welcome to take them out to the terrace, not just enjoy them in your room!
Soft drinks are also available, so those who do not drink alcohol can relax with peace of mind.
Spending the evening with a glass in hand while feeling the breeze is an extraordinary experience unique to UNWIND HOTEL & BAR OTARU.

Night: An Enchanting Space Lit by Lanterns
At night, the terrace takes on a romantic atmosphere completely different from the daytime.
