Sanpin tea, a cherished everyday drink in Okinawa, is known for its unique taste featuring floral aroma, mild sweetness, subtle bitterness, and a clean finish. Also referred to as “flower tea,” it’s a type of jasmine tea where the tea leaves are infused with floral scents. Loved by many, its gentle fragrance is especially appealing.
This summer, ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA presents a creative and flavorful take on sanpin tea through a lineup of seasonal dishes. These special items are designed to bring out the full charm of sanpin tea, both in aroma and taste.

This is a fresh twist on Okinawa’s traditional shaved ice dessert, zenzai, which features sweet simmered red beans with brown sugar syrup over ice. The ESTINATE version combines it with sanpin tea to create a unique original sweet. It’s topped with a rich syrup and sanpin cream, offering a perfect balance between the tea’s subtle bitterness and the sweetness of the beans. A refreshing treat ideal for cooling down in Okinawa’s intense summer heat, and available only at ESTINATE HOTEL NAHA.
Sanpin Lemon Sour – ¥900 (tax included)
While it’s common in Okinawa to mix awamori (Okinawan spirit) with sanpin tea, this version offers a lighter, more approachable alternative using lemon sour, making it especially appealing for younger guests. The citrusy freshness of lemon sour blends beautifully with the soft sweetness and slight astringency of sanpin tea. Garnished with a leaf of locally grown Okinawan lemon eucalyptus, the drink delivers a pleasant aroma every time you take a sip.
