Keyakizaka is located only a few steps away from the hotel. It is probably the most popular spot in Roppongi, where people gather in large numbers every year. The 400m-long Keyakizaka Street next to Roppongi Hills shopping center is lit with 800,000 sparkling white and blue LED lights until Christmas Day. From the pedestrian bridge near the Roppongi Hills Arena, you’ll get a stunning view of the trees covered in shimmering lights, with Tokyo Tower in the background, from 5PM to 11PM daily.
While you’re in the area, make sure to drop by the Mohri Garden, a Japanese-style garden located between Roppongi Hills Mori Tower and the TV Asahi building, which is also illuminated with blue lights.

Roppongi Hills Christmas Market
Located nearby illuminations at Roppongi’s Keyakizaka Street (see above), you’ll find the Roppongi Hills’s popular German-style Christmas market, which is modeled after the market in the German city of Stuttgart. Expect classic decorations, familiar carols and stalls selling gifts like snow globes. When you get hungry and thirsty, there are Christmas market staples such as sausages and beer to enjoy. And if it all starts to feel overwhelming, relax over a warm, well-made cup of glühwein.

Roppongi Hills has by far the largest number of unique Christmas trees this year. After visiting the Christmas Market, head to 66 Plaza (Roku Roku Plaza) for this rather traditional set-up decorated with colorful Christmas baubles and LED lights.

This year’s Tokyo Midtown lights are champagne gold in color, creating a romantic atmosphere, especially in the Midtown Garden area. You will also find a 3-meter tall snow globe projecting a colorful light show synchronized to music.
