Experience Spring Picnics: Taito Ward’s Top Takeout Delights

Hello. I’m a front desk staff member at HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU.

The cold weather is gradually subsiding, and it’s starting to feel like spring is on its way.

As plum and cherry blossoms begin to bloom, you can feel the city coming to life with color. It’s the perfect season for hanami (flower viewing) and picnics.

This time, we’d like to introduce some delicious eateries with takeout menus that will make your hanami and picnics even more enjoyable.

① egg baby cafe

Located just a 10-minute bike ride from HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU, this café specializes in egg dishes. With its spacious interior and seating available up to the second floor, the atmosphere here is truly liberating. Many customers were seen working on their laptops, taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi.

Our Special Egg Baby Sandwich Box (1,100 yen) comes with a side of crispy fries and salad, offering a satisfyingly hearty meal. Packed with semi-soft eggs and seasoned with just the right amount of pepper, this sandwich is sure to leave you feeling fulfilled.

The photo above is the Egg Baby Pudding (500 yen). With a firm and rich taste, this pudding is not too sweet and packed with the deliciousness of eggs. It’s immensely popular and often sells out. If you’re going for this Egg Baby Pudding, it’s best to go early.

Onigiri Cafe Risk

There’s an onigiri cafe called Risk near Sendagi Station. It’s just a 10-minute bike ride from HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU.

The above photo shows the One Soup, Four Side Dishes Set (1,000 yen) on the left and the Lunch Pack (850 yen) on the right.

The One Soup, Four Side Dishes Set includes today’s four side dishes, along with chewy brown rice onigiri. Additionally, you can choose your preferred soup and onigiri.

The Lunch Pack features this week’s main dish, today’s side dishes, Okukujio Tamagoyaki (rolled omelet with Okukujio eggs), homemade nukazuke (rice bran pickles), chewy brown rice onigiri and one additional onigiri of your choice.

There are also plenty of other enticing menu options. Onigiri, which you can choose according to your mood of the day, range from classics like bonito flakes, mentaiko, and salmon to unusual ones like pork kimchi and takana cheese. CRANE HOUSE SANDWICH SHOP

Located just behind Ueno Station, this shop is about a 15-minute bike ride from HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU. Renovated with a design featuring white and red, the shop exudes a Cuban-like atmosphere.

The interior features a colorful design complemented by lush greenery of potted plants, creating a unique atmosphere. The friendly staff graciously guided me through the menu, offering recommendations when I was undecided.

This is the Hamburg Cheese Sandwich (1,265 yen) and Hot Dog (979 yen).

The Hamburg Cheese Sandwich is a chef’s recommendation! It perfectly combines the juicy presence of meat with melted cheese. Plus, it comes with potato chips, which adds to the delight.

This is the Falafel Sandwich (858 yen). Falafel is a dish made by mashing chickpeas or fava beans, seasoning them with spices, and frying them like croquettes. It’s easy to eat even for first-timers and will make you feel like you’re traveling in the Middle East.
