Although it has changed over the years, it is still loved by the locals. At Hinodeyu, you can enjoy an ancient cypress bath that is over 1,000 years old. Just soaking in the water has forest bathing effects, such as calming the mind and activating your metabolism. ⁠There is also a tiled bathtub, where the whirlpool jets soothes your tired back and feet. Since the owner is young and the sento is modern, some companies even hold meetings in this sento using a projector. Another attraction of Hinodeyu is that you can drink homemade coffee milk after leaving the public bath. Coffee milk made from high-quality beans are carefully selected by the owner and includes naturally pastured milk.

Kotobukiyu is a large, Edo-style public bath on the east side of Ueno and features several hot baths such as medicated minerals, hot water, massaging bath, saunas and cold baths. ⁠The large Mt. Fuji painting on the wall is often found in this kind of public bath. ⁠There is also an outside bath, where you can relax in the bath while breathing the fresh outside air.
